Therefore our Services are provided for the terms of GDPR as a processor of hosted data. The customer is a controller.

i-Synergy Hosting cannot provide legal advice to customers. The GDPR refers to encryption as a method of minimising data loss. It is up to our customers to determine their interpretation of the legislation.

We are committed to helping our customers protect the security and privacy of information stored or transferred using our services. We provide our services at the direction of our customers.

Security is a shared responsibility

It is important for our customers to understand and distinguish between security measures that we implement and operate on the our supported infrastructure and security measures that our customers need to implement and operate to protect their own data and to comply with specific privacy and security laws and regulations applicable to them.

We provide our services at the direction of our customers, but we have no knowledge of the data (including any personal data) that our customers store or otherwise process when using our services. Customers retain full ownership and custody of their data and are in control of the entire lifecycle of their hosted data and how such data is classified, accessed, exchanged or otherwise processed when using our services.

With this in mind, our customers remain responsible for any personal information that customers collect and process. Customers must take all reasonable steps to protect the hosted data and to comply with laws and regulations as they may apply to the hosted data and the customer. Such reasonable steps would include the customer’s encryption of personal or any regulated data.

We will process Customer Data which may include personal data, only to the extent and in such a manner as is necessary to provide the Services under the Agreement or as otherwise instructed by Customer from time to time.

There may be times when i-Synergy Hosting may need to share personal data across its entities to support our customers and employees in the provision of services. The EU regulations on data protection (for example, the General Data Protection Regulation) require i-Synergy Hosting to have in place an appropriate method to legitimise any cross border transfer of personal data.

If you have requested backup services from us, these are self deleted/over written every 14 days. Any backups in transit are encrypted.

This Privacy Statement only addresses the use and disclosure of Personal Information that’s collected by i-Synergy Hosting either on or offline. In the course of our interactions with you, we may provide you with links to third-party websites for your convenience and information.
